At Mo’s Crib, sustainability isn’t a seasonal campaign or a trendy tagline, it’s a way of life, a guiding principle, and the heart of everything we do. It informs how we design, what we produce, who we work with, and how we treat the world around us. As we step into June, Sustainability Month, we take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, and why this commitment to the earth means so much to us.
Founded on the principles of mindful creation, Mo’s Crib was born out of a desire to make beautiful things, without harming the environment. From our earliest designs to the intricate, handmade pieces we are known for today, every item is made with purpose, passion, and respect for the planet.
This month gives us a special opportunity to pause and honour the values that have shaped our journey. Sustainability, to us, is not just about using recycled materials; it’s about building a system that benefits everyone involved. It’s about reducing waste, preserving natural resources, and offering dignified, meaningful employment to the artisans who craft our products, 87% of whom are women.
We are proud to work with materials like recycled PVC and naturally sourced ilala palm, resources that might otherwise go to waste but, through our hands, are transformed into timeless pieces of décor. Each basket, light fixture, or planter holds not only form and function, but a powerful story of conscious design.
In a world often driven by speed and excess, we choose slowness. We choose quality. We choose care. And we’re constantly reminded that every choice no matter how small has an impact.
Sustainability Month is more than a reminder; it’s a celebration. It’s our way of saying thank you to the planet, to our people, and to our customers who continue to choose better. It’s a time for gratitude, and a quiet reaffirmation that there is immense power in doing things differently.

As we continue our journey, we remain committed to growing consciously, supporting our artisans, and creating homeware that is not only beautiful, but meaningful.
